Drunk Driving: A Problem at All Levels
On New Year’s Eve, a DHS worker was arrested for drunk driving. She failed a field sobriety test and was found to have a blood alcohol level of three times the legal limit. She claimed that she was on call at the time and was responding to a situation at a Portland hospital.
DHS has terminated her employment.
This story goes to show that drunk driving happens to a range of people, in a range of ages. There is not just one face of drunk driving. If you or someone you know has a habit of driving while intoxicated, take this story as a lesson. One drunken night behind the wheel can cost dearly. In addition to fines and jail time, you can lose your job and suffer public humiliation.
Stories like this DHS worker’s serve as a reminder that drunk driving has serious consequences.
