One question that has arisen is how the legalization of marijuana in the state will impact company policies against drug use. The law does not prohibit employers from firing employees who test positive for marijuana. Also, international and national companies are likely to continue to have policies prohibiting marijuana use, as possession of marijuana is still illegal in most states.

Likely being under the influence of marijuana will be treated like being under the influence of alcohol in the workplace. As most employers do not allow employees to work while under the influence of alcohol, it is likely that this will be the case with being under the influence of marijuana as well.
